I have no idea how single moms and dads (with kids and pets etc.) do it. And bravo to you for raising thinking kids, as Lisamm said!

You mentioned the chore-related whining...I plead guilty to having done that a lot as a kid. My parents used the logic that in the real world, each person has a job to do, and they get "paid" (in one way or another) for that work. So, school and chores were my "job" and I had to do my job in order to "earn" my allowance. It didn't always cut down on the whining, but I did see the logic and it was good preparation for adulthood, I thought. I'm not trying to be opinionated, just passing on the thought. I admire you tremendously and think you are doing an amazing job.

And I'm still working on a cancer awareness post for October...I'll post a comment here when I have it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28571438.post-5841311149926682942008-10-05T15:22:00.000-05:002008-10-05T15:22:00.000-05:00We are similar parents. :) That's the big thing I...We are similar parents. :) That's the big thing I've done with my kids, encouraging them to think for themselves and they do not have to be just like me. I love that you are the same. :) And after exploring several different faiths I came to the same conclusion as you.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13219366045767828564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28571438.post-12027321828576980072008-10-04T18:46:00.000-05:002008-10-04T18:46:00.000-05:00Good for you for raising THINKING children!!Oh, an...Good for you for raising THINKING children!!

Oh, and I've got two words for you: Crock Pot. Or maybe that's just one compound word. Either way, it takes like 10 min. preparation in the morning (or better yet, the night before). Plug it in, then when you come home at night it really does seem like someone else made dinner for you. We use ours a lot.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28571438.post-82889249421291659602008-10-04T04:18:00.000-05:002008-10-04T04:18:00.000-05:00I LOVE that movie ... Yes, Iknow, am completely missing the point of this whole post.

I can't help it, my brain still is functioning at 23% capacity.

And it's 4:18am and I am wide awake. That doesn't help, at all.Trixie Twatwafflehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12712977707578497875noreply@blogger.com
